Dear Friends,
I have to apologize for Jenni's lack of participation in the blog world. You see, I asked her, well, begged her to start a blog. While I lived in Tampa, I got to hear about, see and experience some of the funniest times with Jenni. Her family is great, her kids are smart and adorable and well, Jenni, she is hilarious, forgetful, pretty, smart, forgetful. So, I convinced her to start a blog, by setting it up for her, all of it, down to the header photo. She gave me a quote, and I ran with it. Jenni is so many things to me, so I wanted her to be all of those things to you too...
Anyhow, for the last month and a, well 2 months, she cannot remember her password to login to her blog account.
So, please forgive her while she is on "holiday" from her blog.
I will lovingly remind her of her blog password and she (hopefully) will resume her once every 6 weeks entries so that those of us that don't live near her can experience what a riot she is. Plus, the bonus of seeing how adorable her children are as they grow up. Oh, maybe I will scan her Christmas card and post it for her....
Love,
Jenni's blog impostor, Charisse

Funny Boys
Okay, real quick, I HAVE to share some funny anecdotes from the boys:
Holden says to me last night, "Mommy, I have to tell you something I noticed about old people when we were visiting Gammy last week. "
Okay, honey.
They have cobwebs growing all over their feet and their toes are stuck together.
I'm thinking, hmmm, that's pretty gross, what could he be talking about? Hmmm Hmmm Hmmmmm....
OH! Holden, I think you're talking about PANTYHOSE!

Some questions Jackson's asked me at bedtime that he's given quite a bit of thought to:
Who drives the roller coasters?
Why don't worms have legs?

Life is good.

Well, my little buddy began his school year and thus kick started the "mommy adventures". Let me tell you the plan. Go DIRECTLY to the Y after drop off. Work out, come home and do some tidying and perhaps dinner prep work. Marvelous, organized, enviable. Well, the first day, like a kid in a candy store I wandered into T.J. Maxx. Whew! Talk about fun. I perused every aisle. Tried on purses, shoes, sniffed lotions and soaps, considered frames and candles, went potty and truly just made myself at home. The next couple of adventures, and minus about $500 in my bank account (seriously), I did some tweaking. So, back to the original plan, work out and GO HOME. It's still quite luxurious. The sound of silence is beautiful. I actually make head way in the domestic department. Because you know how it goes when you're cleaning the house with the kids around. They're 1 room away dumping sand out of their shoes, sprinkling crumbs, emptying bins of toys...
Life is good.

Off to Kindergarten
Okay, Okay!! I know I haven't posted in a while. It's not that I don't have things to talk or more likely, COMPLAIN about, I guess I've been in a funk.
My firstborn started Kindergarten on Wednesday. This is something I've been looking forward to. See, he's so ready. He's bored here with me and Jackson. Then this unexpected huge emotional dump happened last week when Holden's very good friend started kindergarten. Time wasn't standing still for me, the moment was pressing down. I bawled my eyes out. When his day came, yes, it was tearful. My baby's a boy. It was easier the second day and today, no tears from either of us.
Here he is, I swear the second he put his uniform on, he looked older and taller to me. Like, it happened in an instant. Poof, big school goin' boy. Baby of mine...

Building Patience
I came upon this today when I googled "patience with 3 and 5 yr. old boys". I'm desperate!
Being a mother of three young boys, I have learned that patience is a tool I use most. A lot of moms use specific techniques that may last for a short time but I believe parenting needs more creativity. I think if you pretend tons of people are watching you, you learn to be more patient than ever, and you create a fix for the problem at hand. It may be just hugging your son at that moment, or changing the subject, or singing a silly song really loud. With patience, you are able to think of a quick fix. I have heard the saying, "Dance like no one is watching." My saying is, "Parent like everyone is watching."

It's worth a try!

GOOD MORNING
Okay, here's one of the things that my PRECIOUS children do that drives me nuts!! It used to be commonplace and I was a nut job on a regular basis. I think I drove my point home and it hasn't happened in a long time. Then, this morning goes like this:
Around 4:45 AM Holden walks in my bedroom and tries to get in bed with me (not completely unusual) and I tell him to go get back in his bed, because it is TOO EARLY. He turns around on his heels like a good boy and heads out the door. Okay, great another hour of sleep before my alarm goes off and I "jump in the shower and the blood starts pumpin', out on the street, the traffic starts jumpin' (Dolly Parton anyone??) Well, I don't really have a job working from 9-5 (it's oh so much more than that), but I love to sing that song in the shower early in the morning. About 5 min. later, I hear my youngest wailing from his bedroom. OH, now I'm P#$$$! off! The fuse has been lit. I jump out of bed and catch Holden high tailing it from Jackson's room, across the hall and up the ladder to his top bunk. He's trying to outslick me, like he had NOTHING to do with his brother waking up at this ungodly hour. So, I'm reading Holden his rights and he's crying like a big baby, which continues to wake up his groggy little brother and further iritate me. Now, If I don't walk away at this point, it's touch and go whether child protective services has a right to arrest me. I proceed with my morning as planned, ignoring the fact that my children are awake and ready to be "served". That's right, I took my shower, then poured myself a cup of coffee. And then another cup of coffee. And now, on my coffee buzz and ready to talk about my morning, I've decided to blog it, BECAUSE I can't call any of my friends at this crazy hour!
So, is this the beauty of blogging that I've been waiting to discover? The therapeutic benefits? Whew, it's off my chest. It's time to move on and hug my children and be thankful for this beautiful day.
